Art of J. Andrew World

Day by day painting at Balticon.

At Balticon, I decided to paint while I was at my merch table. And at the end of each day, I took a picture to show off my progress. So here we go!

Day 1:

As you can see I started off with an underpainting. I used a mint green acrylic and titanium white.

Day 2:

I finished up the underpainting and began adding colors. The colors are kind of flat at this point.

Day 3:

I didn’t get much done on the last day, but you can see the beginning of depth with the color.

Hopefully I will get another chance to finish up this piece. I will keep posting my progress!

Balticon was a huge success.

I want to thank everyone who helped make Balticon the big success it was. It appears I have tapped into an audience that loved and responded to my “Treason in Defense of Slavery Should not be Celebrated” T shirt. In fact, we will be adding several larger sizes to the inventory.

The panels I was on were a lot of fun, and I got to meet Blondie of Caf-Fiends, Eric Kimball of Legacy, and Howard Taylor of Schlock Mercenary. All the panels I was on were about business.

I spent most of my time, when I was not selling, painting. I hope to have up soon the progression of what I got done from Saturday to Monday. I did not finish the painting. However, this may be my new shtick.

This is the most fun I’ve had at a Balticon, and I want to thank everyone whom I met.
