Asking permission to use your words.
Let me first introduce myself, I am J. Andrew World, writer and artist of Right About Now, a comic which was born out of the Wisconsin protests. In my comic I am telling the story of Jim Miller, professor at UW-Stout who had his rights infringed on by the university. When I do my comic, I like to have a “closing argument.” Typically my “closing arguments” are a character from the story who comments on the story to wrap it up and to put my opinion into the comic. I thought for the Jim Miller story, I could have some “Celebraty Guest Stars” to give the closing argument. Mr. Gaiman had asked for approval before I release the comic. I would also like to seek your permission to use you, your name and your words as a closing argument.
Above is the comic as I envisioned it. However, I am willing to make any changes to it or even remove you entirely if that is what you wish.
I also redesigned the poster in question. I may redesign both seeing as finding the originator for permission would be next to impossible.
I hope we can work something out as we work together to promote free speech. If you have any concerns, questions, or are willing to grant permission as is, please e-mail me at jandrewworld@gmail.com
